Prior permission from the management is required before being able to film in the international airports of Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Minorca. To obtain it, one needs to submit a detailed report outlining the nature of the production (TV report, documentary, commercial photography, advertisement, film etc.), the areas where it is desired to film, the scenes to be filmed, the number of people, technical equipment, anticipated required time, vehicles, etc.
The airport management will study and approve requests. If the filming is for commercial purposes, the following charges will be applied: cinema filming and recording, less than two hours: € 923.45 + 16% VAT, each additional hour: € 443.25 + 16% VAT. Photographic reports and advertising: € 221.62 + 16% VAT. Filming and recording on runways or the apron will be subject to a 300% loading and will always be subject to the airport's operational requirements. These prices are AENA's (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea - Spanish Airport and Air Travel Authority) 2007 charges. AENA's public website has a schedule of charges, which is updated with any changes. Once permission has been granted, it is absolutely necessary to submit a list with the full names, ID or passport numbers and nationality of all the people who will take part in the filming, as well as the registration numbers of all the production's vehicles.
Any filming of, or on board, aircraft must have the relevant authorisation from the airline or company concerned. When filming involves the use of other services, supplies or consumables, then these will be invoiced separately. If filming will take place on the runways or apron, then any vehicles concerned will have to take out a special insurance policy through AENA.
Permission to film at Son Bonet airport has to be requested from the management of Palma de Mallorca airport.
