The feature film "Alatriste", directed by Agustín Díaz-Yanez has wan the third edition of the "Ciudad de San Sebastián Film Commission Award" The prize was given the 24th of September in the main hall of the city council of San Sabastián. The Spanish actor Eduardo Noriega, featured on the film, received the prize in representation of all the film team. This prize recognizes the reflection in films of scenic locations as well as the cultural and social values of the place or places depicted by the film. In the case of "Alatriste" most of the film was shot on location in Andalucia.
The other two finalists were the films "Perfume: The story of a murderer" and "El vuelo del Guirre" shot in Catalonia and Tenerife respectively.
The award, promoted by the municipal society "Promotion of San Sebastián", is given with the aim to award those films that show the cities, villages, countryside and regions of Spain and that contribute identifying scenic spaces of interest to audiovisual productions by their natural values, as well as reflecting the assistance and contribution of the Spanish film commissions.
In this year's contest 14 films shot in Spain were selected by film commissions associated to Spain Film Commission, amongst them the BBC Films and Mate Cantero Producciones feature co-production "Four last songs" that was completely shot on location in the island of Majorca.
